How 50 hubs Earn $40 Google Adsense Earning

The journey to 50 hubs have been not easy to say, I started writing hubs 18 months ago, I came to joined hubpages after doing a research on the internet concerning how to earn money writing, after doing adsense such two results came out.

I decided to go for hubpages because some of the writers were making claims of big earnings and even showing figures about these claims. I was so excited about earning while writing and to confess I thought it was just a matter of having two hubs and everything is set.
With too much expectation on me, I wrote my first hub about Local Area Network Design and Implementation on 02/01/09. With first hub I knew everything is set and adsense earning will be flowing. I had google adsense account which I registered in 2006 when I started my first blog, although the blog has change several times when I could not see money coming from it. Back to my hub pages on Local Area Network Design and Implementation, there were few hub pages views and neither adsense money nor click in the first one week and this prompted me to start another hub after reading from other hubbers that the more hubs you write the better.
To see whether I would earn adsense money on my second hub, I did one hub on Network Marketing Advantages and Disadvantages 02/09/08, with this hub I realized that there were some few page views but still there was no earning in the first week. My hub was experience good pages views at least for the two hubs written.
With no adsense money coming from my two hub pages I decided to take a break and look for some alternatives elsewhere online and this landed me on the program known as agloco. I get involved in Agloco and left hubpages for at least one month. But before I could settle in Agloco it was nolonger there anymore, after realizing that it is gone, I came back to hub pages and wrote a hub on Agloco title, Agloco what went wrong on 03/01/08. This was my third hub but no adsense money from hubpages. I thought people could read this hub but I was wrong to date Agloco what went wrong has 18 page views without any click.
At this time in March I realized I was going nowhere with hubpages and Google adsense and became inactive for a while. I came back writing hubpages on may 05/19/08 and decided to write a hub with a title that could make somebody eager to read, What you should know about the BIODISC became by biggest page views contributor and up to date it has 1104 views and made me in Google adsense earning $5. Here I realized that people were eager to know more about the Bio Disc and majority of vistors were not hubbers but were from the search engine.
After realizing that I could make some small money from a hub I wrote another hub on computer networking and communication guide on 06/23/08, this hub has not made $ 4 in adsense earning since writing it and have 124 pages views which is very poor, coming up with this I thought many people would be interested in Networking guide but nothing good has happened. It took me a month to come up with another hub after computer networking and communication guide was not doing very well, simply put it that I was discourage to write another hub. After a period of inactive I wrote a hub on Computer history and generations, and believe you me the very first day I had 100 pages views coming from SU, with these I knew that Google adsense earning is going to be great, when I checked on my Adsense earning that day it was $0, could you believe 100 pages views and earning nothing. Sincerely speaking the page views of this hub stand to be the highest at 1735 with adsense earning of $0.67 and having at least 20 views per day. What could be wrong with this hub?
Write now you might be wondering about Amazon, I have 0 earning so there is no need to discuss this, while with Triond I only managed two articles which gave 0.18
My greatest lesson is to write high quality hubs with high paying keyword, I hope to write my full hubpages reviews when I hit at 100 hubs. Happy hubbing

Hi, I have just passed the 50 hub stage. Too early to say if I will be sucessful at making any money with them. I hope to check in a couple of weeks to see if I have been lucky. Good luck on reaching 100 hubs.

It's a big mystery, this adsense thing. I've heard of some hubbers making $12 in a day from under 2o page clicks. Then there are the hundreds of views that end up paying out about 25 cents. Good luck to you, when you figure out the magic formula, pass it this way!
Nice hub. Although wanted to tell you that 100 page views and 0 earnings is something very normal with Google Adsense especially when the traffic is from SU because it is no the targeted organic traffic. I sometimes get more than 1000 page vies with 0 earnings.
This sounds like the story of my life too. Took me a while to realise i have many many more hubs to write before smelling the promised land.

Greetings - I can certainly relate to what you're stating here. After reading your hub and listening to your story unfold, it sounded similar to my own, though you've been at it longer. Adsense - ? Go figure! They must have named it that for the "cents" because that's how things stack up. It sure doesn't make much "sense" the way they calcualate earnings. I feel the same about earning writing for e-How, although I like the atmosphere there. That's why I encourage ANYONE here to check out my 2 hubs about Constant Content, especially, "Why CC Is A Legitimate Writing Gig". I really don't mean to plug my stuff here guys, but I sincerely feel so much better having found them, I want everyone to see for themselves. You get FULL DISCLOSURE about everything, including the PAY. Even if you sign up with someone else's referral link (I think Kevin had a great CC article) other than mine, cool, just do it. You guys have to see for yourself.

Interesting hub. I think that $40 from adsense for 50 hubs is also ambitious. It could be very true, but ambitious.
It is not possible to predict adsense revenue. I have seen $2.40 for a click with very very less traffic on my blog and I also have seen $0.10 with comparitively huge amount of traffic and a couple of clicks.
We all know that its all about "keywords" that pay good. Rest all is unpredictable, I think.

@Staurt747, welcome to hubpages, its take time effort, determination and keyword research to earn writing online, otherwise you will write hubs that just gives you 0.01 with huge traffics, I have learnt this from some of my hubs and these days when writing i have to do keyword research.

I also haven't earn a lot from Google AdSense and if I were here only for money I think that I would give up. But I like atmosphere on HubPages though I get little money. It seems to me that writing on HubPages is more a hobby but not a way to earn for living.

The best way to go on hubpages is to put some massive, massive action, I only realized this in June this year. Most of my hubs are from June 24 09, actual more than half, and what I have noticed is that my Adsense earning is doubling by months since from June
Finally someone being honest about the kind of money you can make on hubpages. It seems so many others talk like this is get rich quick type of place. I know you can make money here but it does take some work.

People think you write a few hubs and get paid. If only the internet was that easy. You need to make sure you hit the correct keywords for searches to find you, as well as them paying at least $1.
It's not worth writing 30 excellent hubs on smelly socks as you will only get a split of the $0.05 per click!!!

I have not even started 1 hub yet, i opened a account here just a minute ago, already i am undecided if i want to do this or not. I figured i would check into it more. It seams that this is not a good way to make money unless you write around 2000 hubs, and from my understanding that is going to take a lot of time and effort. I am thinking about doing this, among other things on the net to hopefully make a good part time income. I am going to do some more reading and lookin around before i decide what i want to do. The more you write, the more you get paid. The more you optimize and use key words the more money you make. This is the formula for hubpages. Triond, I am a member but can not seem to get above the sense in adsense on that site so I write only for hubpages and eHow.

@Ellen_C - Yes it will work for if you only you make it work, go through advice given here at hub pages by fellow hubbers who are writing and active in here, you will make it by doing good quality and optimized hubs and marketing your hub is the key to getting more traffic
@gmca25 - Yes as you get started here at hubpages learn to do keyword research, use tools search as Google Adwords which is free and would tell you the number of searches and competition on that particular keyword, there is also Google insight that gives you which keywords on the rise and the location where these searches are done. Write quality good hubs and give it some time. The problem is that people quit to soon
@Kaabi - Yes you are right, if you treat it as a website and write more, optimized your hubs, do keyword research is the only way to earn and do not forget that in addition to hubpages traffic you need to drive more traffic by yourself
After more than 100 hubs I have hardly earned anything, I have seen some good ads appearing with my ads but suspect they may produce money for hub pages, not me. However, others seem to have done better but the pay is lousy, if you could call it pay, if you ask me.

I just made about 3 usd for 2 month after joining hubpages. Long way to go. However, I learn a lot about other subjects writing articles.
Its true making money from Google Adsense is not that easy, after reading some great stories we think that it is an easy to play game but it is not at least initially when we first start.
Page views that we get from hub pages (ie other hubbers) don't generate any real income except increasing page views as most hubbers are not interested in related products or services but the hub and its contents.
Interesting hubs and external traffic is the only source of income and it takes time to generate that much traffic.

@Katyzz - lousy pay or not, you have done a good work, it takes time and patient for your hub to start making money, if the ads are not making money for you I really doubt
if they are making money for hubpages. But keep on writing good quality hub you will earn slowly but steadily

Writing in Hub Pages is definitely about more than key words because as a fluke I simply answered a question on 'Backyard Fire Pits' as a Hub Page and it has ranked at the top of my Hubs and often as my #1.. It also netted me some of my first income.
Writing hubs for adsense is hard! But i know it definitely works. A guy made $400 a month and growing with 100 hubs.

Thank you for the honest hub! My story echoes your in the beginning. To be honest, I joined Hubpages primarily to make money. Although I never expected to get rich overnight; I never expected it to be this hard! I made more money babysitting when I was teenager. If it wasn't for the fact that I am disabled, I would have given up long ago. In March, I bought MicroNiche Finder to help wth the keyword research. However, I don't think it has helped that much. Lately, I've been trying to publish more hubs, but unfortunately, I am not a fast writer. However, the earnings are ever so slowly climbing.
I am very impressed with your progress. Wow! You sure have written alot of hubs in the last few months. Congratulation! I wish you all the best. Keep us informed on how you're doing.

@Seamist - seamist I know you can perform better, just keep writing quality hubs, to be sincere I have never bought any of those keyword tools or marketing materials but am using free Google Adwords tools.I started doing my keyword research on June 09, Am sure hubpages will earn you more money than what you were earning in babysitting. I believe hubpages is the best for you since most of the time you have to do typing, just keep on typing and you will prove much, more than half of my hubs were published in less than three months that is 60 hubs, it is in June 24th that I published this hub and I just realized that I was sitting in a gold mine ready to explored and was just waiting for the right button from me, I have since my progress in both pages views and earning and I did $11 earning yesterday 22/08/09 for the first time in a day
It pays, do not give up. Do it as if there is no other alternative out there and you will see the fruits of your work

Click on the Advanced Reports Tabs - on the opening window to the right where there is show option click Channel Data(Manage Channel) - once the new windows opens
click on URL channels tab which is after the Custom channels
Then Click on the Add new URL channels - on the space written Enter URLs track, one per - here copy paste your hub url here and then click on the Add Channels tab

You should also write articles that stand the test of time. If you focus on what is hot right now you get a big burst, but then later not so much.

You have some great comments and your article here is good and inspiring for someone new like me. I'm not new to Adsense but rather new to Hubpages. So I roughly know how it works. You are right; it does take hard work, but the hard work will pay off.. more hubs mean more revenue. It's a very good, basic concept. Thank you for sharing this.
I usually check out Google keywords before I write my articles on hubpages or my own websites. Last month I made $18.47 and so far this month in August I've made $15.91 with AdSense. I've written 35 hubs since I joined about a year ago. I make $5-10 per month with Amazon and eBay. I'm not getting rich, but the extra bucks keeps me in coffee and a little gas for my car.

Thanks for sharing. For myself, seems that my first month with Hubpages is going to be much better than the Adsense I get from my independent web sites. So far my clicks per impression is running at 0.7%, so yes, at times you can go 100 impressions without any clicks. Keep at it though, most important is to write compelling content because you sincerely want to share and enjoy writing, and hopefully the money will take care of itself. Cheers!

@Gerber Ink - Yes Checking out keywords is the way to, this helps you to avoid topics that will pay peanuts with huge traffic. In the beginning when I started I did not learn about keywords, it took me about 2 years to learn keywords. I can see your Adsense Earning is improved in June I made $3.01, While July after writing about 40 keywords researched hubs my Adsense Earning shoot to $14.15, August has the the highest Earning since I started writing and what has helped me is the Hub Challenge and my earn stand at $28.88 and still five days to go. To make real money with hubpages, you have to get yourself involved in the hubpages community.
You also have to write good quality articles, A good quality article must have an attention grabbing headline, and the body of your article must deliver on the promise of your headline.
You should also submit the rss feed of you're hubpage articles to the major rss feeds Directories.
If you do these 3 things you will substantially increase you're earnings on Hubpages.
Quality articles (hubs) are the only way to get your readers bookmark your hubs and this is the major source of organic search engine traffic. Thanks Paul for the above advice

Great Hub my friend I do agree hubpages is a great place to earn but theres more ways to earn in hubpages other than adsense I been part of hubpages for about 3 months now have a lil over 50 hubs in one account but I been making money with adsense way before I joined hubpages..

keep at it..from a blog that gets between 200 and 1000 hits a day and hubpages I make about 100 a month from adsense.
One day I almost had a heart attack when I got 7000 hits and pocketed 90 dollars.
It was a fluke but it reminds me that it might just be possible to get to that level on a daily basis

You need some direction. I made $10 off two hubs in two months before I was trying to make money online. Trying to earn online can be tough, but it isn't impossible. I didn't read through all the comments because there really are a lot, but the reason you probably aren't doing that well with AdSense is two fold. 1) the keywords your going after (titles of your hubs and what you write about) influence your earnings a lot. If you find high paying keywords, you'll make more with AdSense. It really is that simple. And then the next key is 2) backlinking. You have to show up in Google searches to make money with AdSense and one of the only ways to do that is by building backlinks, unless you're going after a very low competition keyword phrase with HubPages.
For example, one of my first hubs was about telecommuting. I noticed clicks were about $1 and so I then looked into my Google Analytics account to see what keywords people were using to find my hub. I then built more hubs titled with those long tail keywords - and a few of them dominate the #1 spots for those phrases and bring me decent AdSense clicks.
My earnings grown every month and I haven't written here since the HubChallenge a few months back. How? Backlinks move me up in the SERPs. It seems as though most of your traffic is coming from HubPages and you really want it to come from Google in order to make the most with AdSense. Most hubbers don't click ads. I'm not going to say how much I make now, but I get paid from AdSense every month. I also get paid from Amazon, but not that much. But I've only crafted a few hubs and know if I took this a little more seriously and applied what I've learned I'd be making a lot more.
Check out Griz and Court - they'll teach you how to make more online & with AdSense. Just search "make money online" in Google and you'll find them right at the top (with a blogspot blog, of all things).

Here Keyword Research is the only way that can help you know the profitable niche if you are writing for money. After Keyword Research write something that will help your readers as this will make them bookmark your work. Write often and quality materials

@Ridd_aren - yes, the minimum payout level with AdSense is $100. I'm not sure though if they send checks to India - I'm pretty sure they do though, but check out the AdSense site or maybe ask in the forums here. There are publishers here on HubPages from India, so someone will know...

Many people here at hubpages are earning a lot more for much less hubs! and vice versa! Thre is no scientific amount of hubs thats required to earn a certain amount of dollars..
The thing I love which is the same for you, is if you-we never write a hub again, we will still earn revenue from the hubs we already have forever and thats just so awsome!!

You must create commercial contents to get clicked over hubpages.
There are six ways I make money online. Adsense is one of those ways.
Interesting Hub. It took me 60 Hubs and about 6 months to pass the $100 ad sense target. Then, now with 75ish Hubs, it took me about 4 months to make the next $100. It's clear that the more (quality) content you publish, the more you make. And, interestingly, my Hubs with the most traffic are all 3-6 months old.

@Small Cat-Welcome to hubpages, some have 50 hubs and are earning much more and some are earning less, so this can not be a measurement of how you will perform here at hubpages. The 50 Hubs that earned me 40 dollars were non keyword researched hubs

@Double Down - Yes am just learning my lesson, and am glad it took me one and half years to learn, otherwise I would have quit long time ago, as majority who do not make money either through Google Adsense quit in Just six months. The Hub with the highest page views and least earnings comparably doesn't have anything wrong with it; when I'm reading a captivating article, I don't even see the links, much less click on them. I'm reading the material. That's what I care about. It means you wrote a captivating article. They prob'ly didn't even know you would get money if they clicked on a link. I only know that because of joining HubPages, and now I click on links as often as I can.
I guess there is a Google penalty in effect lately. Anyone had seen huge decrease in their pageviews, thus earnings lately?

Thanks a man 2 trust, actually when I got started with hubpages I thought I would make some few hubs and expect money to start rolling. This didn't happened and I was greatly disappointed with my Google Adsense Earning such that I left hubbing for almost one year. I came back to hubpages on june 09 to see is I can really earn money. During June 09 I did put a lot of effort on writing new hubs and the results was that amazing and managing about $50 in one months

Can I give you a suggestion? You might find more success if you change topics a bit. I notice that you are writing mostly around IT type topics. For kicks, why not write about something you know about that is on a very different topic, for example some cool and upcoming product. Products usually do better with Google Adsense, because advertisers are anxious to sell products and are willing to pay more for their ads. For example, do you know something about Fendi Sunglasses? Guicci Suits For Men? If not, try doing a bit of research and see what kind of subject works best for you.

I like this hub.
It really comes down to writing hubs and using the right keywords. Getting ranked on googles first page (Which is where you want to be)is the key! social sites for hubpages isnt really good money makers, the ctr is very low.
Google organic results is where it's at. Since you made this hub you are now up to 274 hubs Great job on that!I only have 6 but its a start.

@belief713: You have hit right-on when you said that the right keywords make all the difference in getting your hub to show up in the search engines. That's what brings you traffic and, of course, the traffic brings people who are interested in your adverts. Traffic is a big thing when trying to make money with hubs.

Back to the topic of this hub: Another thing that is very helpful to being found ranking high in the search engine results is to put your keywords at the beginning of your title rather than at the end. The closer to the front of your title they are, the better. Also, put your keywords in the first 50 words of your article.

Smiles...thanks for sharing your experience. It's an old lesson, choose your keywords well if you want to earn from your hubs (but many of us still don't and write freely instead sans keyword consideration.)
Before my motivation was just to write, get published and talk to a community of writers. So now after more than a year...I still have no exciting hub earnings hehhehe. Will compromise now and write about things I like that have high earning keywords too.

The 50 hubs I did had no keyword research and all were just informational hubs with no head and tail and remember it took me almost 12 months to earn the $40
Nice hub, you may want to drop by and read my hubs. I show you how I made up to 200$ per month with only 7hubs. You have to choose topics that generate traffic and choose the right keywords. Once you figure this out you're on your way. If you need my help, let me know.
