1. Write Quality Content
After being in Hubpages for 2 years now, one of my biggest lessons that I have learnt about getting free traffic is adding original quality contents. Quality contents have been talked about by many members here at Hubpages or anywhere in the forums. To be frank this method of driving traffic to your hubs is not for the lazy people, if you are not committed to what you are writing then driving traffic through quality contents is just one of the dreams. My original hubs here are driving good search engine traffic which some of them normally convert into Google earning. Writing quality contents means that you are going to take time to develop these contents. You may have quality contents but if your quality contents are copied from somewhere else online then you should be prepare for no traffic. Quality contents has to be original, with originality you will be able to write very good and long text that will enable your readers to link on your article. Add quality contents as often as possible since search engines robots normal crawls your pages searching for new contents, as they noticed your new contents they will be ranked as fast as possible. Copied contents will be ignored by Search Engine robots and could lead to your account termination or suspension. The only cheap option to drive quality traffic to your hubs is to write quality contents with human being in mind, remember you are targeting the people to read and comment on your article, Other than original quality contents, include original quality photos, video

Good information on driving traffic.
One other thing which will help is a good internal linking structure within your hubs - write a group of articles around the same topic, grouop the keywords and link the articles to one another in a loop ( I can describe it better if I draw it!) but basically that way you will retain any link juice as it comes through from google search.
